The 2023 international endurance race event was a real record setter, including a circuit attendance of 53,446 fans.
The #888 Mercedes started on the front row following Broc Feeney’s standout qualifying performance on Saturday. Van Gisbergen led the race through three hours before the #75 worked its way into the lead thanks to cunning strategy. He handed over to Maximilian Gotz from seventh in the ninth hour. However, the team was penalised to the tune of a drive-through penalty for a pit stop infringement, dropping off the lead lap, albeit still in seventh overall. At the end of the race, they crossed the line in fifth position.
