2022 Supercars Champion Shane Van Gisbergen arrived at the Adelaide 500 with a special liveried car featuring a tribute to Holden's history in Motorsport. The car also featured the championship winning number 1 on the side instead of the usual 97.

While the race weekend delivered only 20th and 7th place finishes in the two races, the weekend will be remembered for the long time due to van Gisbergen's epic championship winning celebration on iconic front straight at the end of Sunday's race.
