This is a 1:18 diecast scale model Holden Torana LJ GTR XU-1 as driven by Peter Brock in the 1972 South Pacific Touring Car Series for the Holden Dealer Team.
The South Pacific Touring Series was a series for touring cars that supported the Tasman Series of the day.
The 1972 series was held over four races in February, starting at Surfers Paradise, then moving to Warwick Farm, Sandown and Adelaide International Raceway.
The Holden Dealer Team entered the newly developed LJ Torana GTR XU-1, with Peter Brock and Colin Bond as drivers.
Ultimately the Ford Falcons of John Goss and Allan Moffat dominated the series, the former won and the latter was runner-up, with Brock finishing the series equal fourth in the nimble Torana that chased the big V8s like a terrier.
This model scheduled to be produced in an exclusive, one-off limited edition die-cast model. Featuring opening parts including the bonnet, and driver doors, a detailed racing cockpit, and engine bay.
Limited to only 1000 examples, this Brock model is sure to be a collector's item.
The model of this car is based on the #36C Torana that Brock raced in the Sandown round of the series.
