This is a 1:18 scale diecast replica model of the Ford Falcon XB GT as raced in the 1976 Hardie-Ferodo 1000 driven by the legendary Murray Carter with co-driver Ray Winter.
It is scheduled to be produced in the second-quarter of 2025 by Classic Carlectables and is limited to just 700 units.
Only three Ford Falcons started the 1976 race, following Ford withdrawing motorsport support in 1974. Despite Carter/Winter showing strong promise, their run was cut short by engine trouble. They were eventually classified as finishing in 19th position outright, limping across the finish line to complete lap 148 nearly four minutes after the winning Morris/Fitzpatrick Torana completed the winning lap 163.
Carter, though not a factory-backed driver, was known for his passion and independent spirit throughout his racing career. His efforts with the Falcon XB GT highlighted his ability to compete at a high level, often racing against better-funded teams.
His best result at Bathurst came in 1978 when he finished third with Graeme Lawrence.
