This is a 1:18 scale model of the Holden Commodore VP driven to fifth place by Win Percy and Allan Grice for the Holden Racing Team in the 1992 Bathurst 1000.
1993 started a new era for Australian touring car racing with the phasing out of international Group A regulations in favour of a new home grown, five-litre formula, that would eventually be known as V8 Supercars.
However the dawn of the new era started in 1992, when 1993-spec cars were allowed to be run in the end-of-season enduros at Sandown and Bathurst.
Holden Racing Team unsurprisingly went fully into readying for the new era, running two 1993-spec cars for the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000. The #16 car featured 1990 Bathurst winning combination Win Percy and Allan Grice, while Tomas Mezera and Brad Jones shared the #15 car.
The #16 car was first to run in the 1992 Bathurst Top 10 Shootout with Grice at the wheel, who improved his position from 10th after qualifying to a seventh starting position.
In a fraught race day that ended in the infamous race-stopping red flag, this car ended up being victorious in the class set up specifically for the 1993-spec cars, finishing 10 laps ahead of their Holden Racing Team teammates.
A fifth outright finish was a credible result against the well sorted and faster Nissan GT-Rs and Ford Sierras and marked the last time the Grice and Percy combination tackled the Great Race at Bathurst.
This limited edition of 750 is scheduled to be produced as a diecast scale replica, completed with opening doors, bonnet and boot.
Complete with a fully-detailed interior, it's an ideal addition to your model car collection.
