Fresh off their success with the retro-inspired Supra livery for the 2024 Sandown 500, Tickford Racing and Thomas Randle returned in style for the 2025 round at the iconic circuit.
This time, the inspiration was proudly Australian. Leading up to the Sandown 500, Randle’s #55 Mustang was unveiled with a special tribute to motorsport legend Larry Perkins. The retro livery faithfully recreated Castrol’s iconic ‘saw tooth’ design that Perkins made famous during the 1990s touring car era.
The striking combination of black, red, green, and white brought the Castrol Mustang to life, immediately capturing the imagination of fans. Demand for a scale model replica was instant, and we’re thrilled to bring this stunning collector’s piece to enthusiasts everywhere.
This 1:18 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high quality die-cast with opening parts which includes the bonnet and both the driver and passenger doors.
A highly detailed racing cockpit can be seen through the molded clear glasshouse, or by opening the doors to examine the interior further. Under the bonnet includes a detailed 5.4-litre Coyote quad overhead cam V8 and engine bay surround. Underneath the model, the undercarriage details the unique Gen3 floorpan.
Comprised of roughly 204 individual metal and plastic parts, with anywhere between 100-200 steps in paint and decoration finishing, including tampo printing where possible, photo etched parts including the bonnet pints, brake rotors and more, this is a high quality, detailed collectors model.
It will come in an exclusive, one-off limited edition with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity presented in its own protective cardboard folder.
