This is a 1:18 diecast scale model of the Holden Commodore VL Group A SV as driven by Allan Grice and Win Percy in the 1988 Tooheys 1000 at Bathurst.

Grice and Percy had spent that season racing for Nissan in Europe, however the team didn't send its Skyline 'down under', leaving them free to race a new fuel-injected Roadways-built Commodore backed by FAI Insurance.

Following on from the controversial 1987 edition, the 1988 '1000 maintained the rage. The World Touring Car Championship was gone, but in its place was the FISA (now FIA) Pacific-Asia Touring Car Championship.

Ford Sierras set the top seven qualifying times, with Grice setting the 11th fastest time, almost six seconds behind pole sitter Johnson.

That year's Shootout didn't count for grid positions, but it didn't stop Grice attempting to get the prize money on offer by starting his hot lap in the Murray's Corner run off area to gain extra speed before he reached the green flag!

On race day, Grice and Percy endured a range of issues, including an engine misfire, with the brand new car and finished 15th with 139 of 161 laps completed,

This Classic Carlectables model has been produced in 1:18 scale in a limited edition of 750. The model features opening doors and bonnet.

It includes a Certificate of Authenticity, and production number plate, mounted to the chassis which bears an individually numbered etched metal plate representing the edition number of the model.
