Produced by DDA Collectables this is a 1:64 Scale 1969 Trans Am Mustang, driven by Jim Richards.
The Sidchrome Mustang is the car that launched Jim Richards on the path towards legend status. Built from a road-going Ford Mustang bought from a used car lot, the combination of Richards and the Mustang claimed many race wins in New Zealand before he and the car moved to Australia - and kept winning.
This 1:64 scale model presents the Sidchrome Mustang in its original guise as built by Richards, engine guru Murray Bunn and a host of helpers in the secrecy of a remote farm shed in 1972/73. Richards won the 1973/74 New Zealand Saloon Car Championship at the Sidchrome Mustang’s first attempt, before the car was substantially modified with its engine moved back, its guards flared and wider wheels fitted.
The Sidchrome Boss 302 Mustang model features opening bonnet, with engine detail.
