Produced by DDA Collectables this is a 1:32 Scale Holden Torana XU-1, as driven by Peter Brock to victory in the 1972 Hardie-Ferodo 500.

The first of Peter Brock’s nine wins in the 'Great Race' came aboard a Holden Torana LJ XU-1 that you could buy off the showroom floor.

Developed with racing in mind by Holden Dealer Team chief Harry Firth, the six-cylinder rocket played David to Ford’s hulking V8-engined Falcon GTHO Goliath.

The 'Supercar scare' of mid-1972 meant that year's Bathurst 500 was the last time standard road cars headlined the entry for the race, and the final time drivers could do the whole race solo before the race distance was extended to its now familiar 1000-kilometre length.

Brock battled through the wet opening stages with Ford's reigning two-time race winner Allan Moffat, before the Holden driver gained the upper hand and raced away to a victory that established him as one of the top touring car drivers in the country.

This 1:32 scale model depicts Brock’s Torana in its distinctive red, white and black Holden Dealer Team livery and features an opening bonnet and doors plus a detailed interior and engine bay.
