The first Bathurst 1000 for the Peter Brock Trophy...
Relive some of the most iconic moments in Bathurst 1000 history in this DVD release.
Featuring all the action from the 2006 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, this DVD contains all the thrills, spills and action that only Bathurst can provide.
Held in the aftermath of the death of Australian sporting legend Peter Brock. The 2006 'Great Race' was going to be significant in the history of the race before the green flag flew for practice.
The Holden Racing Team combination of Mark Skaife and Garth Tander were the favourites coming into the race, but their race didn't even make past the first kilometre of the race.
However with the favourite Holden consigned to a non-finish, the script writers still had the Hollywood finish in mind, with Brock's number one protege, and a new Mount Panorama legend driver and team coming to the fore.
A brutal race with 10 Safety Car periods ended with the fairy tale finish - and there wasn't a dry eye in the house, or on the podium.
In this release there is some action that happened during the commercial break, not originally broadcast on television.
